Ihor Kopytin discussed the topic together with the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, representatives of the authorities, arms manufacturers, non-governmental public organizations: NAKO, Ukrainian Institute of the Future, etc.
The basis for the roundtable was the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's plans to change approaches to defense procurement. Their main goal is to make the state defense order more transparent and understandable: both for customers and manufacturers, including - for partners of our state.
Members of Parliament discussed the de-monopolization of exports, creation of a central procurement organization under the Ministry of Defense and an executive body that will oversee the defense industry.
One of the key issues became the balance between the protection of the domestic producer and the opening of the market for foreign enterprises.
